It has been my privilege and joy to serve the Cassville congregation since July 1, 2012. Before serving as pastor my background was in home construction, and I also worked as a supervisor for building maintenance teams. I attended Penn State University for Criminal Justice (B.S.), and am currently attending Wesley Theological Seminary to complete a Master’s of Divinity degree. I am crazy about my family and together we run the gauntlet of life in ministry. They are a vital part of my team. I believe in excellence in every endeavor to be the fundamental ingredient to success. I have high expectations because there is no reason to not expect great things. I love a good challenge, and won’t jump ship until all opportunities have been exhausted. I invite you to join us for worship when you are in the area we would love to have you!
Autumn joined the staff, officially, in January of 2016. She however has been helping with administrative work since she moved into the parish in 2012 with her Husband, Pastor Todd. Besides her secretarial duties she is a stay at home mom with their 2 children, Paytyn and Tristan. Autumn’s main job is all administrative work for the parish. That means pretty much any piece of paper made in, for, or at the church she is responsible for. She also helps with many other ministries, activities, and groups.
I’ve lived in Cassville and have attended the Cassville UM Church all of my life. My music education began with piano lessons when I entered grade school and I recall playing for church as far back as my early teenage years. I’m the pianist for all of the services and also lead the multi-generational choir which has approximately 17 members. I’m part of a dedicated committee of volunteers that plan the services and select the music for Sunday mornings and other special worship events. Our worship style is a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary praise music. I’m married to Mike and God blessed us with a son, Zachary. Zac started taking drum lessons in grade school, played them in band throughout junior and senior high school, and accompanies me on his drumset during our time of praise music on Sundays. I love all types of Christian music and when I’m not working at my weekday job as a commercial lines insurance underwriter, you’ll find me listening to one of my favorite contemporary Christian radio stations or on my computer searching for the music to a new song that I want to introduce to the congregation. I thank God that He gave me a passion to worship Him through music and the opportunity to serve Him here as music director.
Barb and I have been a members of Cassville United Church since February 19, 2012. Both Barb, my wife and I had been attending for several years before we retired from the D.C. area and moved to Cassville. During the time since then; we have been very active in church activities. I have become a Lay Servant and have filled the pulpit on several occasions of the Pastor’s absence. I’m active in the Worship Committee, Administrative Council, Parish Pastor Relations Committee (currently serving as the Secretary), Choir, Finance Committee and for three years I had been the Trough Creek Parish’s Representative to the Susquehanna Annual Conference. Currently, we are both enrolled at Evangelical Theological Seminary as candidate’s for Master’s Degree in Divinity. Barb and I are very involved in the Kairos Prison Ministry. I am a retired United States Air Force officer with 30 years of service. I am also a retired U.S. Federal Civil Servant with 12 years of service as a civilian. I have a married daughter with a seventeen (17) year old son. My son is married with a thirteen (13) year old daughter. Our youngest daughter is currently living in Laurel, Maryland with her husband. I am very proud of both parents and grandchildren, all of which live in Texas.
Barb retired from the U.S. Army in 2004 after serving for 21 years as a Medical Service Officer. Her military career culminated in serving in the Pentagon as a Congressional Liaison. In 2005 Barb returned to work in the Pentagon as a civil servant working in the Army Budget Office as a congressional affairs analyst. In 2011 Barb and her husband Paul retired from the federal government and moved to Cassville Pennsylvania. For the past few years, Barb has served as the secretary for the Cassville UMC Administrative Board, is a member of the United Methodist Women, and volunteers in the Kairos Prison Ministry. When not doing something involving the church or Kairos, Barb and her husband, Paul, enjoy their retirement at home in central Pennsylvania watching the wildlife in their backyard.
Cassville UMC has always been my church. I have been privileged to serve the church in many capacities. Including Sunday School Superintendent, teenage Sunday School class teacher, and early morning study leader. I am currently a choir member and serve as Administrative Board Chair. I am excited about the future of our church and look forward to serving it in whatever capacity God decides for me.
